The heart of Team 247 in FIRST competitions is the Mechanical subteam. This subteam builds much of the robot during the season.

The Mechanical team takes the lead in planning the physical construction of the robot. They also work with the CAD subteam to lay out plans and make computer drawings of the robot. They also have to work closely with the Electrical subteam on the robot's wiring and with the Programming subteam to coordinate the robot's operation.

After the planning period, the Mechanical subteam measures and cuts all of the materials necessary for building a robot. They then assemble the parts to create the final robot.

The members of the Mechanical subteam are Sarah Binkow, Alex Bogdan, Riley Gallagher, Josh Graff, Ben Kennedy, Alex Levine, Jacob Lurie, David Nayer, Aaron Rappaport, Ethan Sines, and Eric Sylvester.
