The Marketing subteam has a unique role on Team 247. Their primary job is to prepare the team's Chairman's Award submission; the most prestigious award in FIRST Competitions. The Marketing subteam also works on other various awards for Team 247, such as the Woodie Flowers Award.
Additionally, the Marketing subteam is in charge of shaping Team 247's image. They make sure the Mission Statement truly represents our team and keep it up to date.
Beyond all of their FIRST based activities, the Marketing subteam also ensures that the Team reaches out to the community through events. Anually we host a bowling fundraiser and organize a tag days weekend. To see more of the team's adventures in our community, see our community outreach page.
Chairman's
The Chairman's subteam is the branch of the Marketing subteam that prepares Chairman's presentation. Their mission is to create the Chairman's video, written submission, and presentation to compete for the Chairman's award - the most prestigious award given at the competitions. The Chairman's subteam primarily focuses on creating the written submission for the majority of the season. The written submission is a 10,000 character essay focusing on how Da Bears represent FIRST, and embody its values.
Video
The Video subteam works together to create the video that is submitted in advance to the judges along with the written submission for the Chairman's award.
These as well as the Chairman's oral presentation, are all parts of the competition for the Chairman's award so they work closely together with their projects.
Sponsorship
The Sponsorship subteam is a largely independent subteam from the rest of the marketing team. Sponsorship attempts to gain the support of companies in hopes of receiving their support for Team 247. They do this by making calls, visiting, and mailing information packages to potential sponsors; in hopes of concluding with a meeting to arrange a new partnership with Team 247.
Scrapbooking
The Scrapbooking subteam records the history and data of Team 247. Photos taken of events are placed and captioned in scrapbooks. These scrapbooks are displayed at local events such as Berkley Days (a fair held annually in Berkley).
Scrapbooking is used in Chairman's presentation: the scrapbooks are presented to the judges. They are used in the deliberating process, helping show what our team does throughout our season.
Scrapbooking is a tedious task, requiring a sharp, subtle, yet imaginative mind. Our scrapbookers work hard to provide the Chairman's group with highest quality scrapbooks.
