This year, Berkley's robotics team does not have a Computer Aided Design (CAD) team. If Da Bears had the CAD subteam, it would use the program ProEngineer to create a scale model of the robot. The model is built complete with everything that goes onto the robot, including movable parts. When it is completed, the build team has a full representation of every piece they have to build.
Normally, the CAD team's job is not to design the robot, but to put it into a digital format. The entire team designs the robot and the CAD team then creates a computer representation of it.
