The Animation subteam is one of the more unique subteams that is a part of Team 247. The animation team does not participate in the general FIRST competition; they participate in a specialized FIRST Animation competition.

This year is a transition year for the FIRST animation. While in the past there had been a safety animation competition in the fall and a themed animation competition during the build season, this year there is only the fall safety animation challenge. Unfortunately, the Animation subteam was not able to organize quickly enough to create a safety animation this year.

Next year, FIRST will have a themed animation competition in fall, which the Animation subteam intends to participate in.
